4S STRATEGY IN DENGUE PREVENTION

1. Search and destroy  areas which might become suitable breeding places for aedes aegypti mosquitoes. Search and clean surroundings for. Make sure to cover water containers, and empty water from flower vases, tires, cans, bottles, and other things contains water. To prevent dengue is everyone's concern, people in our community are encourage to do  each other's part to keep our environment clean and dengue-free.

2.Self-protection measures that is to wear long sleeves and long pants to minimize skin exposure. Wear clothes that are not dark in colors. dark colors like dark blue and black have been observed to attract mosquitoes more tahn light-colored clothing. mosquito repellents applied on skin are also useful to be protected from mosquitoes. a natural mosquito repellent citronella bug spray can also be made and applied.

3. Seek early consultation once symptoms of dengue is observed, never wait for symptoms to get worse as dengue is a life-threatening disease if not given early medical intervention.

4. Say no to indiscriminate fogging. Fogging can be advised when dengue outbreaks and epidemics our in an area. aside from that, indiscriminate fogging is discouraged as it will only drive away mosquitoes to other area but not necessarily kill them.
